Why an E-Bike Fully?

If you compare the E-Bike Fully with the previous non-motorised mountain bike full suspension, the weight of the E-Mountainbike Fully is significantly higher, which at first glance seems rather negative. However, this does not lead to increased effort due to the multi-stage motor support. The e-bike Fully allows you to switch on the power assistance as required by the electric motor, which gives you a maximum feeling of freedom and opens up new possibilities for you, even as a less trained rider. Whether you want to reach high speeds quickly with the assistance of up to 25 km/h or recover after strenuous trails without having to take an extra break - with the E-MTB Fully there are no limits.

For whom is an ebike Fully suitable - Why is a full-suspension eBike exactly the right bike for me?

Whether it is the rapid achievement of high speeds through the support up to 25km / h or the recovery after power-sapping trails without taking an extra break - with the E-MTB Fully no limits are set. The full-suspension e-mountain bikes are equipped with the same segments as the conventional fullys, but still offer you a load of extra power to tackle any adventure. This not only saves you energy, but also time that you can use and enjoy for even more exciting riding experiences. Fun and games, especially off-road, can become your daily companions to empty your head or just completely exhaust yourself.

You are a passionate mountain biker and love adventure? Your heart swells on the riskiest trails? Then you are with the E-MTB Fully at the right address. The artist of the terrain, suspended both at the fork and at the rear, proves its off-road suitability through the enormous off-road mobility that comes with the double suspension. This shows the further development of classic, rigid mountain bikes and describes the final stage of outdoor bikes through its robust construction. Downhill shows an amazing traction and on the flat a first-class comfort. Compared to the E-MTB hardtail, the shock absorbers and suspensions installed here provide for more weight and also for a higher maintenance effort. With the help of the greater complexity of the design, however, on the one hand the body is relieved and on the other hand a significantly higher speed is achieved, especially in rough terrain. Added to this are very good driving dynamics and traction, as well as quiet, safe driving characteristics even on difficult terrain. The chassis, the equipment and the geometry are ideally matched to the corresponding driver and the intended use.

Fully or e Fully - Which suits me better?

If you are interested in a Fully, you can choose between a motor-assisted or a normal Fully. The development of eBike technology has progressed strongly in recent years. Thus, weight and integration of the battery have been extremely improved. Thus, a motor-driven Fully comes closer and closer to a normal full-suspension mountain bike. Of course, the technology still weighs a little more. However, the weight has not only disadvantages. When going downhill, it offers more stability and the powerful engine helps when going uphill extremely. In the future, work will continue to save weight and batteries and motors will be integrated more and more into the frame geometry. For purists and weight fanatics, the sportier model without motor is probably the better choice.

Fully vs Hardtail: What is the difference between an ebike Fully and an ebike Hardtail?

The difference between the two categories lies in the area of suspension. A hardtail combines an unsprung frame with a suspension fork. Fullys (also called full-suspension bikes) have a full-suspension frameset. Hardtails are quite a bit ahead of fulls in terms of weight. This is mainly due to the rigid frame of the hardtail. In older fullys, pedaling has affected the chain tension and the chassis. The bobbing of the suspension gave a spongy ride. Nowadays and with the new Fullys this is no longer the case. Modern Fullys have a sophisticated geometry and intelligent elements in the area of the suspension built, so there is no more loss of power. Probably the biggest decision criterion is the budget. Full-suspension eBikes are in a higher price segment due to the additional suspension. With a hardtail, you get away a little cheaper, save weight and are basically a little more agile on the trail. If you need more damping off-road, then you should opt for the full-suspension bike.

e-Bike Fully made of carbon or aluminum - Which frame suits me?

From this level of bicycle technology, the ebike Fully frame consists almost exclusively of very light carbon to save as much weight as possible. The motor, battery and wiring are integrated into this frame and are protected from impacts with the help of crumple zones and special protective covers. The four-piston brakes, combined with high-quality 180 to 200 millimeter brake discs, are sometimes a prerequisite for safe riding. With regard to the choice of wheel size, attention should also be paid to the area of use. The advantage of 29-inch wheels is that the larger radius is accompanied by better rolling behavior. This makes them ideal for touring on light to moderately difficult terrain to easily compensate for minor irregularities. Due to the larger circumference, however, losses in the area of maneuverability must be accepted. This, in turn, is fully given in the 27.5 inch wheels. So those who prefer to move on more demanding, angled ground, should fall back on the smaller variant in combination with a larger suspension travel. Especially for the drifters among us, a 27.5+ wheel can also be selected for the rear, which is slightly wider than the 27.5 inch wheel, in combination with a 29 inch wheel at the front for a smoother ride.

How much suspension travel does my eBike Fully need? - The full suspension eMTB!

Suspension on the fork
Suspension on the fork

The suspension on the fork and rear provides on the one hand for more traction, but on the other hand also for an enormous robustness on all terrain. The suspension travel ranges from 120mm to 200mm. 120mm-140mm is recommended for extensive tours on light to moderately heavy ground. In order to be able to take off in more demanding terrain, a suspension travel of 150mm to 170mm offers itself. In order to really freak out especially on steep descents and very rough terrain, 180mm-200mm travel should be resorted to. From this results: The rougher the favored terrain, the greater the suspension travel should be. The dampers and suspensions are made of different materials. Elastomers, for example, provide adequate suspension without excessive investment, but may lose elasticity over time. For the damping system, air dampers are in high demand because of the weight. If steel springs are used in combination with oil damping, this means increased maintenance costs, but the e-bike does not have to be retrofitted with expensive suspension or damping elements.

Which suspension suits me? - Full-suspension eBike!

Mountain bike suspension

The suspension fork / telescopic fork absorbs shocks and the frame guarantees a more precise driving technique due to its rigidity. This stability increases safety enormously. Who wants to get over hills and valleys, roots and difficult terrain, needs a good suspension and more suspension travel.

Air spring or steel?

Air

With air suspension, fine-tuning of the damping is possible. This means you can specify the right pressure even with heavy luggage. The weight of the rider can also be ideally balanced thanks to air suspension. They are also lighter than steel springs. The downside is that it generates more heat and requires more seals, so may require more maintenance and care.

A well-known manufacturer of air suspension systems is, for example, Rock Shox with Deluxe Select, Rebound Adjust, Trunnion Mount or Super Deluxe Select+.

Steel

Steel springs are more sensitive to shock and do not require seals. They have better traction and less maintenance. The higher weight and inflexible load adjustment are the downside here. Steel springs also do not fit every frame shape.

eBike Fully suspensions are available from 120 mm to 180 mm, decide for yourself which damping is right for you.

These are placed in full or partial integration within the frame low and thus cause a simplified handling.

Which ebike Fully motors are available?

Features of the Bosch engine:

The absolute favorite of manufacturers in the choice of motor is the Bosch Performance Line CX engine due to its impeccable performance data and innovative eMTB mode, especially for off-road. A high torque is essential for the drive. Here one falls back on drives with 250 watts and around 85 Nm. The most advanced technology ensures a smooth, gentle action of the engine power and thus for riding comfort at every turn. To ensure sufficient energy, powerful 625Wh or even 750Wh batteries are used. These are placed in full or partial integration within the frame low and thus cause a simplified handling.

Features of the Yamaha engine:

The most commonly used ST motors of the PW series from Yamaha are equipped with a quad sensor system. This provides the best possible support in any situation. The drivetrain also has a wide range of support, making it suitable for high cadence pedaling.

The ST tuning of the PW series makes this drive unit the perfect all-rounder. Beginner or advanced, onroad or offroad, the PW series ST offers driving fun and extremely comfortable support.

With 250 W nominal power, a maximum torque of 70 Nm as well as a battery capacity of up to 630 Wh, the Yamaha motor is well equipped for all situations and offers sufficient power on almost any trail.

Regarding the range is to say: More watt hours create more range. Here, however, other factors, such as the weight of the e-bike, your own body weight, the selected driving mode and the traveled surface also act.

Which wheel size fits me and my e bike fully? 29" or rather 27.5"?

Advantages of a 29" inch eBike Fully:

29 inch has been very popular for several years and is catching on. Initially eyed critically by mountain bike purists and afflicted with some pitfalls, the bicycle industry has recognized the trend and made it the new standard through constant improvement. The advantage of 29 inch tires is a very smooth ride. This offers great advantages for long rides as well as for uphill and downhill rides and saves power. The larger circumference than the 27.5" makes the bike turn more easily over almost any obstacle and can cover longer distances. The initial problems with maneuverability on the trail and the small frame appearance have been optimally compensated for by improvements and adjustments in the frame design and component selection.

Advantages of a 27" inch eBike Fully:

The 27.5 "wheels are a logical complement to the larger 29 "wheels and the ideal compromise for smaller riders and trail enthusiasts. The combination of smooth running and durable maneuverability will meet every biker requirement. It is more agile than 29" wheels and is perfect for off-road riding and switchbacks with low reaction time. This category is particularly suitable for the transition from 26" wheels. The 27.5" combines the best of both worlds into a bike whose versatility is limitless. Fulltail or hardtail - 27.5" is the golden ratio and the perfect tire size for anyone who wants to use their mountain bike as it should be.

Which e Bike Fully brand should I buy?

Nowadays, high demands are placed on modern eBikes. A lot of research is put into the performance and durability of the materials used. Whether touring bike or ebike Fully the requirements and the demand for quality remain the same. Especially on the frame, the suspension fork or the braking and shifting system, you can recognize a good bike or a good brand. These components are exposed to the greatest loads. Therefore, all our offered brands offer a high quality standard and it goes without saying that all our bikes are subjected to strict quality testing. Brands such as Cube, Ghost, Scott, Haibike, Focus, Trek, Kalkhoff, Winora, Diamant or Conway, all offered brands offer the previously mentioned quality features and can be recommended without exception.

What types of eBike Fullys are there?

The eBike Fully All Mountain:

The all-mountain bike is the all-rounder among the e-mountain bikes. This makes it suitable for a wide range of applications. Both hardtail and full-suspension bikes are available, with the full-suspension bike being the classic variant. The suspension travel of the fork is typically 120-160 mm.

ebike Fully Enduro

Enduro bikes are absolute eBikes for shredding. Designed for the most difficult trails and descents, it has a particularly high suspension travel of 140-180 mm.

ebike Fully Downhill

The e-downhill mountain bike is the heaviest bike in the category of e-mountain bikes. It is designed specifically for steep descents and has an extreme suspension travel of 180-250 mm. Absolutely stable components so that the bike can handle landings of large jumps are required for this type of bike.

ebike Fully Freeride

The e-freeride mountain bike is a combination of all-mountain bike and downhill bike. It is slightly lighter than a downhill mountain bike, but has very stable components that can withstand high loads during big jumps and descents. They also have a particularly high suspension travel of 160-200 mm as well.

What distinguishes an eBike Fully for ladies?

Women e Fully
Women e Fully

Especially when choosing a mountain bike, it is worthwhile for the female gender to pay close attention to the features of women's models. They differ in that they provide a comfortable seating position on trails and tours without back pain or discomfort. Features of the ladies eBike Fully:

  • short crank arms
  • Tuned spring element
  • Special saddle
  • short torso and short arm reach
  • Lower protrusion height for smaller frame sizes
  • narrower handlebars and grips
  • Brake lever adjustment for small hands
  • Low entry or trapezoidal frame

Women's bikes make sense because of their smaller frame size. Tailored to women's ergonomics for B.XXS (13.5 inches), but also fits perfectly with men's models. Most models are already very well made and tailored to average body types, but there are big differences in body types. Those with smaller hands or generally smaller build can have a lot of fun cycling with the women's model.

How to charge my ebike battery?

We recommend the following steps in the following order when charging your e-bike battery:

  1. Plug the charger into the power outlet.
  2. Then you can plug the e-bike battery into the charger.
  3. To know when the battery is full or if an error is displayed, monitor the charging process.
  4. Unplug the power adapter from the power outlet as soon as your e-bike battery is fully charged.
  5. Then you can disconnect the charging cable from your battery or bike.
  6. To prevent water from entering, be sure to cap the battery or charging port on the bike frame.

How do I maintain or care for my ebike Fully?

Let's face it, how nice is it to arrive with a shiny branded bike that looks like new? Nothing is better than knowing that the rear derailleur, pedals, Bowden cables and suspension fork are all in order.

You should definitely not do that!

No matter what the Internet would have you believe, no matter how tempting it may seem, we strongly advise against using the following:

  • The quite popular high-pressure cleaner: With the power of the pressure washer you have removed all the dirt in no time, but also the lubricating layers. In addition, the engine may have been pumped full of water. Seals can fail, there is a risk of short circuits and dirt particles can even be carried where they should not be.
  • Grease-eating cleaning agents: Degreasers attack the vital lubricating layer.
  • The steam jet: The very sensitive electronics will suffer, the chain and bearing will be deprived of grease, which will eventually lead to corrosion, which you will quickly notice.
  • All kinds of nasty fats: Remember that not all grease is the same. Use grease that is capable of creeping, otherwise the "something grease" will get dirty, because any dirt will get stuck there.
  • aggressive cleaners: As impressive as it is when dirt disappears as if by itself, the use of aggressive agents not only attacks seals and plastics, but destroys much more: Use only proper products for e-bikes.

The procedure

  • Remove removable displays and other removable electronics, including the battery. You can cover all other permanently attached electronic accessories with foil or fabric.
  • Start with the wheels. They like water with a little car shampoo. Clean the wheel from the hub to the rim with a sponge. Then rinse with water.
  • Do the same for the frame. If the frame is very dirty, let the cleaning agent soak in. You can remove soaked dirt more easily.
  • Once you have removed all the dirt, you can take care of the chain links, you need to lubricate them properly again. Simply apply a thin layer of chain oil suitable for e-bikes to the chain. To prevent oil from reaching the sprockets or brakes, it is best to start in the middle of the lower chain run.
  • Note: One drop per chain link is sufficient. Turn the crank and shift through all gears so that everything is evenly distributed. Finally, you can wipe off excess lubricant with a clean cloth.
  • Suspension forks also need a small, wafer-thin layer of premium suspension grease from time to time. If used sparingly, only very few dirt particles will adhere.
  • Wipe the disc brakes with a dry or damp cloth. To ensure braking performance, please make sure that no grease adheres.
  • As with the caliper clamp, the threads (except those treated with special grease) should be grease-free. Brake cables on rim brakes can be greased occasionally.
  • Make sure the battery contacts are completely dry before reinserting the battery.
  • After cleaning, check the electronics and circuitry.
  • Maintaining the chassis: If the wiper ring and the standpipe of the fork are very dusty, remove it with a damp microfiber cloth.

The maintenance

  • Tighten the screws: Find all your bolts on your e-bike and tighten them. The stem and handlebar bolts are especially important. Make sure that both the quick release and the saddle are tight. Tighten the wheels/tires as well.
  • Check tires: Do you have enough air in your tires? Ideal for this is a floor pump with built-in pressure gauge (pressure gauge). Loosen the valve cap and check the tire pressure. Tires lose air all the time, so you'll probably need to add air. The correct tire pressure is printed on the sidewall of the tire.
  • Check spokes: The spokes must be taut and you must not be able to move them. In the meantime, you can check your tire au 8s.

E Bike Fully buy online - price categories and payment options!

The price level of the sophisticated e-mountain bike full suspension is a good deal higher than that of an e-mountain bike hardtail. However, this is absolutely justified by the above-mentioned advantages and complexity of the installed technology of the wheels. A good E-MTB Fully starts at about 2500 € upwards.
