The affordable entry, not just for young people
With the Scott Aspect 980 / 780 / 680, there is a hardtail available that is aimed primarily at hobby riders and teenagers. For an absolutely fair price, you get a bike in the usual perfect Scott quality. Reliable Shimano components and the uncomplicated rim brake ensure that the bike is hardly susceptible to repairs and, in the worst case, can be repaired quickly and cheaply. Weighing in at around 14.5 kilograms, it is pleasantly light and allows you to cover long distances. For sporty rides, Scott fits the Aspect 970 / 770/ 670 and up with a disc brake that can be wonderfully controlled in all conditions.
From the 960/760 model upwards, this is hydraulic and therefore even more powerful. From the 950/750 model up, the suspension fork also has a lockout, and the reliable Shimano Altus rear derailleur with 24 gears ensures plenty of propulsion. Visually, the bikes immediately catch the eye with the typical Scott design. Youthful and bright, or perhaps serious and discreet – the available color options offer both possibilities.
Mid-range for frequent riders
The Scott Aspect 940/740 opens the mid-range of the series and comes up with some great features. In addition to a lockout for the suspension fork, which makes fast rides off-road significantly easier, the Shimano Alivio offers a full 27 gears. The hydraulic disc brake from Shimano guarantees a safe ride. Weighing in at around 14.3 kilograms (a little less for the 650B format), the bike is also extremely light. The Aspect 930/730 relies on the popular Shimano Deore 27-speed drivetrain and high-quality components from Shimano and Syncros.
The Aspect 920/720 variant offers even more gear range with 30 speeds. Weighing well under 14 kilograms, with hydraulic disc brakes and remote lockout for the suspension fork, this bike is already in the upper mid-range. Here, too, Scott offers a choice between a range of rather eye-catching and cheeky paint jobs and a slightly more discreet and sedate design.
Top bikes for mountain bikers
With the Scott Aspect 910/710, the manufacturer offers its customers a bike that is not limited in use. The equipment allows for everything from a leisurely after-work ride to an intensive tour or a daring trail. The Rock Shox 30 Silver suspension fork gives the bike a very good level of comfort and a lot of traction. The much sought-after Shimano XT rear derailleur with its 30 speeds allows for the optimal cadence at any speed. The large, hydraulic Shimano BR-M365 disc brake guarantees safe braking maneuvers.
With a weight of approx. 12.8 kilograms, this bike is in a class with the significantly more expensive models of comparable makes. Scott has developed the new Aspect 900 to provide the perfect link between mid-range and high-end mountain bikes. Available exclusively as a 29er, this bike is particularly suitable for riders who expect the best technology at a reasonable price. The rare Fox Float 32 Rhythm air suspension fork with 100mm of travel comes into its own on fast trails. Together with the sporty Shimano XT 2-speed rear derailleur, this bike is a piece of sports equipment for frequent riders and touring pros.
