On some models, this can be set precisely to determine the level of effort at which you ride with or without support. This allows you to achieve an individual, gradual increase in performance. Compared to the Trekking Bike, the seating position and equipment is much more sporty, resulting in a more dynamic and direct response to corners, but also fewer transport options. The luggage rack is not integrated as standard here, but can be retrofitted as required. Compared to a mountain bike, the e-cross bike and its frame geometry should not be used on demanding trails. If you want to let off steam here, it is better to use an e-mountain bike hardtail or fully with >100mm suspension travel, an extended seat position and appropriate tyres. However, when equipping the e-cross bike, we partly rely on the solid components of the E-MTBs. For example in the shifting groups with up to 30 gears and hydraulic disc brakes, which offer very high braking performance and reliability in all weather conditions.
For high speeds, narrow 28-inch wheels provide lower resistance and better rolling characteristics. In line with this, the Cross Bike is equipped with a suspension fork at the front and a suspension travel of up to 80mm, which effortlessly absorbs coarser shocks and supports constant contact with the ground. Depending on the equipment, air suspension forks or steel springs are used. The result is an excellent combination of speed, traction and smoothness. The frame is usually made of particularly light aluminium and is shaped with a geometry designed to achieve high speeds. In most cases, a classic diamond frame, which is particularly popular with men, is chosen for the frame. As a counterpart for women, however, a trapezoid frame with a bent top tube is often also offered, which makes getting on and off the bike more comfortable.
One of the most important components, however, is the engine. Nowadays, this is usually only installed centrally on the bottom bracket in order to place the weight optimally and to ensure appropriate directional stability even at higher speeds. The power of the motor is indicated by the wattage, which in the case of the Cross Bike is between 250 and 500 watts, depending on the brand. The actual support is determined in Nm and usually measures around 60Nm. This also determines the speed, which is supported by the motor up to 25km/h. Here most manufacturers fall back on the proven Bosch Performance Series or the Shimano system.
E-Bike Fitness
A fitness bike is reminiscent of a racing bike due to the many common components, for example the extremely fast gear change and the responsive brake system. The narrow tyres and rims are also optimally designed for firm ground, as on a road bike, and are therefore particularly suitable for longer tours. The straight handlebars provide a more comfortable seating position than on a classic road bike, making the E-Bike Fitness the perfect everyday companion. Fast and sporty progress is no longer a problem with the e-fitness bike from now on!
