A lively spirit of innovation, indestructible, captivatingly down-to-earth bicycle design, the latest technology... the Diamant brand combines it all. Made in Germany is always a good argument, and when it comes to a true gem among quality bikes, why hesitate?

In the oldest book of mankind, gray hair is referred to as a crown of beauty, since mature people are often only able to make truly wise decisions based on their life experiences. In terms of the manufacturer's diamond, this complex association can certainly be applied... 135 years of experience makes the manufacturer a true expert, although the influences come not only from positive experiences but also from some defeats. Nevertheless, the manufacturers were never down for good, but always showed themselves ready to get up again immediately.

The bicycle industry's jack-of-all-trades

It all began in 1885, when Friedrich Nevoigt developed sinkers for knitting machines after suddenly losing his job. Nevoigt turned his adversity into a huge success. But what do knitting machines have to do with bicycle frames?

The shrewd Nevoigt, who had meanwhile persuaded his brother to join him in the business, unexpectedly discovered how well diamond steel was suited for bicycle frames. Instead of using this material for pen nibs – which Nevoigt had temporarily replaced the production of knitting machines with due to a slump in sales – he decided to tinker with the development of bicycle frames. Success was immediate, and Nevoigt's achievements soon received a brand name: DIAMANT. The logo – the "little head" – as well as the brand name are indicative of the manufacturer's motivation: to grow into one of the most popular market sizes with reason and the highest quality standards.

Years later, Opel took over the company, but this initial setback turned out to be a stroke of luck, because thanks to this influence, Diamant was able to offer the first motorized delivery bikes as early as 1934.

The management then managed to separate from Opel, which was the right decision, as the quality standards were significantly higher than those of the carmaker. But the Second World War was already looming. Miraculously, the Diamant-Werke were spared the bombs and the dismantling actions of the USSR.

Anyone who takes a closer look at the manufacturer's long history will quickly find out that the odyssey was far from over. Due to various circumstances, Diamant was on the brink of collapse several times, but no crisis brought the manufacturer down. The association with the most valuable gemstone is therefore perfect! These bikes have been forged under a great deal of pressure and honed by countless experiences. They are not only first-class products, but also tangible emotions, so that every buyer also "makes a statement" with their purchase.

Diamant wants to move

The minds behind Diamant define their aspirations in four words: instruction, change, support and inspiration.

From the first glance at a Diamant bike with its logo, it is clear that we are dealing with a manufacturer steeped in history. At the same time, Diamant has not only managed to honor traditions, but also to combine them with modernity, not by allowing itself to be driven by superficial demands, but rather by demonstrating how valuable the place of the past is in the future.

Diamant, the Saxon with a second home in Switzerland, is now under the control of Trek Bicyle. Given that Diamant has the fortune of having learned valuable lessons from past mistakes, it is guaranteed to get it right with every Diamant bike.

Diamonds...

Diamant bikes are advertised with a love of detail and design prizes.

The warranty period for the frame is also impressive, at a whopping 40 years. The manufacturers not only believe in their good bikes, they simply put all the promises on the same level with facts.

For all the older ones among us who want a solid ride, but don't want to do without the latest technology and ergonomics, a diamond bike should be the first choice, as it is for all young trekking bikers who prefer the retro and classic style.
