16 inch describes the size of the tyres. We recommend this size - depending on the age and the general coordination ability of the child - from about 100/105cm. Since these bikes require proper pedaling, it is an advantage if the child has already ridden a wheel or a 12 inch bike. The gear ratio is adjusted to suit children, so that even steep slopes and longer distances can be mastered. Support wheels are included in many models for the first few meters.
