Dirt bikes – the descendants of the popular mountain bike

As already mentioned, dirt bikes are not suitable for touring, but are designed exclusively for acrobatic maneuvers. There may be parents who are convinced that a dirt bike will please their offspring, but this only applies if the child shows a massive penchant for dirt biking. Otherwise, a dirt bike has no place under a child's bottom – pure frustration would be inevitable!

The usual size is 26 inches, and a gear system is usually not included. When you go for the stripped-down single-speed version, you are sticking with the bike's intended use.

We do not recommend simple steel, which is often advertised as HiTen, because it is not only very heavy but can also break. CrMo or CroMoly steel variants are much more recommendable. These are harder and generally robust enough. Aluminum is only a limited alternative. Lighter but less stable, this metal cannot adequately meet the specific requirements.
